Current elevator landing door safety retainers are able to prevent fall accidents from an inadvertent bump against the door, as they designed endure a kinetic energy of 450 J. However, recent increase in among people electric wheelchairs indicates that required sustain stronger external shocks doors. The purpose this study is develop capable enduring 1,000 J at doors elevators. In study, crash analysis simulations were conducted after designing new scenarios not stated current regulations, considering collision behavior wheelchair door. side hook was confirmed play important role withstanding collisional Crash yielded different results according shape guide shoe. verified by performing experiments on various established scenarios. This also reliability developed implementing more realistic instead impactor proposed regulations.
